I take full responsibility for the bogus scoring, even though it was not me. That's what happens when you leave your computer open for your lab partner to mess with. It will not happen again. Sorry.

I went undefeated in the 21-3A pickems and was the only one to go undefeated in 20-4A pickems. I am so good. ;D

Silsbee vs. West Orange Stark Predictions?
AggiesAreWe replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I wasn't too far off on my prediction. Still got the 16 point spread right. Final was 64-48. -
You could have started one. Next one I will use Chad's point spreads.

He is a tranfer from Louisiana, he is not eligible till next week.

PNGISD to file with Attorney General

I would like to hear that too. My observation is that the only people that gain from it is the media, gives them another story to write. -

WOS @ Silsbee HJ @ BC HF @ Orangefield

Silsbee looses two starters: Robinson and Walters. Other Seniors are Byars, Jackson, Archer, Barnes and Skinner. Byars sees lots of minutes and is a streaky good 3 shooter. Jackson and Archer give the guards some rest and Barnes and Skinner give the big guys some rest. Starter Hill is a Jr., starter Lane is a Soph. and starter Stallworth is a Soph. Also, '6"6 former starter Avory Thomas is just a junior and '6"6 Barnes who is moving up from the jv this week is a soph. along with Xavior Harris who is a '6"3 soph.

Have no clue about the boys. I follow the girls. But I can promise you 6 Silsbee players would not be on the list. They are good but not that good. I hope HJ wipes the floor with you guys. C'mon Bleed, you are going to hurt my feelings. ;D BTW, I am still awake.

Donovan Harris? Sure, he wasn't great like Dess but still, the dude can play WR. I watched Harris when he was a junior and he was very good and I thought he would be the best reciver in SETX when he came back for his Senior year but he got in that car wreck and that took some pep out of his step a little but he was fast..........fast enough to win state in track and a good kid also........... Desmond Doss on the other hand could jump high to grab the ball & was fast.......... he was good in basketball also...... plus Desmond Doss only played football his senior year and turned some heads and got to go play football @ Blinn College for a little bit...........So I would say that Doss was slightly better than Harris....... Speaking of Donovan Harris and track...did he go last year? We were there when he won state in the hurdles and we even screamed his name across the field and he just looked very perplexed...like who's hollering for me in the WO-S section. He was awesome then and I remember him getting in the wreck. Just didn't keep up this year like I usually do. Where did he end up going to school? Harris actually won two medals last year. He won gold in the high jump but could not repeat as 110 high hurdle champion, got silver.

Stangchain, when you used the term "bread and butter", that pretty much sumed it up for me.

I think the term "athletic" gets stereotyped a lot. But this comparison of "athletic" and "fundamentally sound" teams is kind of splitting hairs. You can have an athletic team with great fundamentals. You can also have a fundamentally sound basketball team that can't run fast or jump high. I'll take the former, rather than the latter. ;D I'll always believe that coaching is what sets the great teams from the very good ones. I always go back to this example: I have been going to the state tourney every year since 1972, I have seen my fair share of great basketball teams. The one team that sticks in my mind about coaching, or the lack of, is the 1983 Houston Yates team. This team had 4-5 Div.1 signees. Their starting 5 was '6"3, '6"3, '6"6, '6"7,'6"8. Two of these players were great players that actually played some NBA, Ricky Winslow(U of H Phi Slamma Jamma fame) and Carvin Holcomb (Baylor). They came in to the tourney ranked #1 in the state and in the top 10 nationally. They played a Ft.Worth Paschal team in the semis that had no player over '6"3. To make a long story short, Paschal was very well coached and beat this all-world team by double digits. Both these teams were all black, so the stereotype is out the window on this one. But the Yates coach in my opinion did no coaching. The Paschal coach was phenomenal in that game. In all the years of my state tournament experience, I have never seen such an overwhelming amount of talent lose to such a lesser talented team. It was pure and simple, coaching.

Excuse me, you are saying that Jarvis Benard is averaging 30 points a game this season? I find that hard to believe. -

AggiesAreWe replied to Bobcat1's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
The youth will likely hurt them in this year's playoffs, but if they all stay in school and at Cleveland this group of Sophomore's may be the team to beat in Region 3 and in the State the next two seasons!!!!!!! Best of Luck to Cleveland and all teams in 22-3A this season!!!! Now you're just sucking up. ;D -
Aggies Take down #21 Baylor tonight!!
AggiesAreWe replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Sweet.......only been to a Aggie Volleyball game and they put a crowd larger than a men's hoop game at LU. There must have been at least 5k in there and the students were incredible and it was on a Sunday afternoon!!!! They played I believe Colorado and there were some smooth looking chics on the floor!!!!!!! :o :o Hey Lazeek, the Ags take their volleyball, softball, and women's soccer teams seriously. Great crowds at all of these sports. But, if you really want to have some fun, come with me to an Aggie baseball game, it's an event!
