Astros treated this day game as a "throw away" game. Used pitchers that haven't seen much action of late to rest some other arms.
Houston loses 7-6 but still got the series win over Colorado.
On to the Dodgers for a 3 game weekend series at Chavez Ravine.
The Astros just had their BEST June in team history, going 19-7 with a .731 winning percentage. IN FACT, this was the 5th best record for a full month in ALL of the Astros history.
I figured that's what you were talking about.
I see Pena making it as a reserve (but likely will elect not to play) and Brown and Valdez being on the pitching staff along with Hader.
Won't hear a peep from him while they are winning. But let them lose 3-4 in a row and he will come out of the cracks like cockroaches.
This was an impressive sweep of one of the hottest teams in baseball. Pitching was outstanding!!
Hader ties an Astro record with 21 consecutive saves to start the season. Ties Dave Smith's record.
Houston is currently top 3 in AL in both hitting and pitching. No other American League team is top 3 in both categories.
Astros currently have the 2nd best record (47-33) in AL (Tigers have best record at 50-31) and 3rd best record in all of baseball.
Keeping that 2nd best record will allow Houston to not play in Wild Card round and have homefield for Divisional round.
