Astros treated this day game as a "throw away" game. Used pitchers that haven't seen much action of late to rest some other arms. Houston loses 7-6 but still got the series win over Colorado. On to the Dodgers for a 3 game weekend series at Chavez Ravine.

The Astros just had their BEST June in team history, going 19-7 with a .731 winning percentage. IN FACT, this was the 5th best record for a full month in ALL of the Astros history.

McCullers should have stayed out today. smh 3 1/3, 8 runs, 7 hits, 4 BB and a HBP. Also gave up a total of 17 bases in that 1/3 of the 4th inning.

Hader ties an Astro record with 21 consecutive saves to start the season. Ties Dave Smith's record. Houston is currently top 3 in AL in both hitting and pitching. No other American League team is top 3 in both categories. Astros currently have the 2nd best record (47-33) in AL (Tigers have best record at 50-31) and 3rd best record in all of baseball. Keeping that 2nd best record will allow Houston to not play in Wild Card round and have homefield for Divisional round.
