Yes. He was the OC at Cypress Springs. Also, Smith doesn't get enough credit as an AD. Silsbee is very competitive in all their sports (not just basketball).

Smith is 78-31 overall and 18-8 in the playoffs. His first three years he went 23-15 overall and 6-3 in playoffs. His Silsbee teams are averaging making 3rd round every year in his 9 years as head coach.

Nope. If I do it, IF!!!, It will be after the holidays. I want to see more teams first. Plan on attending several tournaments in the next month so that will help. Most likely have a ranking on January 3rd.

If I did 3 polls, I would do top 8 6A-5A, top 10-12 4A-3A and top 6 2A-1A.

Actually, doing three polls is easier. Less teams to work with. Problem is the 2A-1A poll. Only 22 teams and several of those are not ranking worthy.

If I were to do them, it most likely would be 6A-4A, 3A-1A. A top 12. Or could do a 6A-5A, 4A-3A, 2A-1A top 8. The breakdown of the number of teams we cover here are as follows: 6A 8 teams 5A 15 teams 4A 14 teams 3A 21 teams 2A 14 teams 1A 8 teams If you did two polls, then it would be ranking 37 and 43 teams. If you did three, it would be 23, 35, 22. The problem with doing a ranking that involves three different classifications is folks will always bring up that the smaller schools couldn't beat the larger schools. Most times that is true but that is not what a three classification ranking is about. Some just don't get it.
