HJ is still the cream of the crop. They lost the best 4A player in the state, but still have two players coming back who received all-state honors from various organizations, and 6 of their main 8 players from last year. I don't know if they'll make it to state again, but I don't see anyone in this area giving them too much of a game unless they've lost a player or two that I don't know about.

That I agree with. I think once it got to the judge his hands were tied.
-
It sucks. Sounds like the judge was sympathetic, but had no choice. She plead guilty, he deferred her prison sentence to probation, but had no choice on the restitution.
-
yes, and he's good. I think they lost a lot on their line(s), but not positive. I don't follow them closely, but know they're struggling this year.
-
this is an interesting topic, but how about y'all take the personal slap fight to the messages so that we can discuss the actual issue at hand?
-
They’ve only lost 3 district games in the last 5 seasons, so them being picked third is a direct indication of them being down. Also, their results this year haven’t been good. Hamshire Fannett graduated a qb last year who is currently on a D1 roster. EC lost by 12 to them last year, but this year lost 41-0. They also squeaked by HJ who’s 0-3, and went 1-8 last year. People saying they’re down are doing so because they’ve routinely been one of the better teams in the area for over a decade, and they’re struggling this year. To lose by 6 touchdowns to a team they always compete with and often beat is a huge red flag.
-
Diboll should win comfortably. HJ showed some improvement last week, but not enough, ane EC is way down this year. Smitty's 21 point prediction is what I would say as well.

interesting case. So he talked to the kid for 14 minutes on the phone, and then 4 days later the kid enrolls at his school. It doesn't look great, but if I were the coach I'd play dumb and say that I didn't know how he got my number, but he called to let me know he was moving to my school and wanted to talk to me about football.
-
they're smart.

seems like we usually get a weak front or two this time of year. I'm not complaining. it was 64 when I left the house this morning. Still gonna be pushing 90 today

I don't hate the idea. Personally, I think it should be easier for immigrants to come in, but they should be taxed at a much higher rate than citizens for some set number of years. If an immigrant can come over for say, two years, find and maintain gainful employment, pay the higher taxes, and not break the law, then let them become citizens. When, and only when, they show they can be a useful member of society, they can bring their families over to join them. That said, no immigrant should be allowed to come in and start receiving government benefits. If you can't sustain yourself and family without food stamps, medicaid, and other govt handouts, then it's a detriment rather than a benefit to our country for you to be here. I'm fine with helping people, but not at the expense of hurting our country.

New Scoreboard System Debut Tonight—Your help needed!
bullets13 replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
And those members for the most part continued to type those updates. You want to spend three or four hours on here on friday nights updating and monitoring these simple posts that work pretty well? Or how about you go to the game you're interested in and update the score live for us? Because there are several folks who spend a good part of their friday evenings monitoring content, updating scores, changing titles to reflect finals, changing the big scoreboard, etc. etc. so that folks like yourself can log in, look at the one score you want to know about, make two posts criticizing the site, and then log out for a couple of days before you come back and do it again. This new system will take a little time to work out, but once it's up and running it will greatly reduce the manual work needed on the site, the vast majority of which is unpaid and done by folks volunteering their time to keep the site up and running. -

If regular updates are posted as well as algorithm updates it will be great. The motive behind this is to allow users to open up the football forum and literally be able to score down and see live scores in the title of the thread. That will be awesome. But clearly the site has some kinks to work out. -
Two counterpoints: 1. students have been standing around watching other students fight since there have been fights in school. 2. While I think it’s great if a kid wants to jump in and break up a fight, I don’t feel like it’s an obligation for them to do so. I don’t know the details of this fight, but would we punish a 135 lb freshman for not jumping in to stop a 300 lb senior offensive lineman from beating somebody up? What about a female student? Are they to be punished for only watching a male beat up another male instead of jumping in to stop it? Even by going and bringing a teacher back they risk being retaliated against in the future.

2022 Dallas Cowboys

And now he’s hurt. Awesome. -
Dak showing that he still isn’t worth the money tonight. He’s got a 13-20 record in his career against teams that finished the season with a winning record. I’ll give him credit for being one of the best QBs of all time against the prevent when he’s down 3 scores late, and also a very good stat sheet stuffer against bad defenses.
-
Seeing that Ewers only has a clavicle sprain, but I honestly don’t know what the recovery time looks like for that.
-
Watching the horns narrowly miss beating Bama with their backup QB and then the Ags lose to a sunbelt team did my heart a lot of good today.
-
I’ve been coaching soccer, is ewers hurt or is Texas just splitting snaps at qb?
-
That was intentional grounding imo, what eligible receiver was near that pass?
-
Refs used the opportunity to fix their mistake so their tires weren’t flat when they got back to their vehicles

I don’t know it’s getting worse or we just get videos of them now. I remember us standing around watching fights once in awhile when I was in school. This one sounded pretty brutal, though.
