And it's been ten years and school lunches are still awful, and the kids still hate them.

It's a place that people are from. It some circles it might be considered derogatory to say someone is from there?

Kountze (12) @ Hull-Daisetta (22) FINAL
bullets13 replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
Just kind of depends. At that level your studs are going both ways, every snap if possible. You might have a handful of kids subbing in. But those 5'5" 130 lb freshmen aren't seeing the field unless there's a catastrophe. -
Any clue why Longview is #1 in 5A-D1? They had a good year last year, but going 9-4 and three rounds deep in the playoffs is usually not even good enough to start in the top ten the next year, much less at #1.
-
#2, #3, and #4 all lost. Crosby got hammered, College Station got hammered, and Aledo lost a close one. To be fair, they all played great teams, but still.

Kountze (12) @ Hull-Daisetta (22) FINAL
bullets13 replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
The only thing I can think is when you only have 25 total players in the program, you need to get the young kids all the playing time you can get. There's no way they'll be able to sustain a JV team for more than a few more weeks. They'll inevitably lose a couple of players to injury and a couple to grades, and there won't be any option. All remaining 18-20 players will be on varsity. -
If you can provide proof that you are the other poster's dad, step-dad, or mom's boyfriend then no action will be taken š

Hampshire fannett at east chambers sept 2

Should be a good game. Always a heated rivalry between these two. -
Anahuac is salty. Iāll say they win by 4 scores.

Bumping this for those who mightāve missed it.

Like I said, some of it is suspicious. But a lot of their supposed victimsā connections have been greatly exaggerated or even made up, and otherās causes of deaths have been inarguably proven. Suicide is pretty common in the high pressure world of politics as well, especially when youāre about to get busted for something. And again, thereās the main point I made earlier: over the years the Clintons have had literally thousands of interns, associates, partners, and advisors. Theyāve been in politics for over 40 years. I would bet serious money that you could connect a similar number of deaths to any other high profile politician whoād been active for 40 years. Especially if youāre willing to fudge a few facts to make it look like a lot of the dead people had a closer connection to them than they actually did.

Got this pickem wrong, but thought it was a tossup. Boy was I wrong. Not sure if Diboll lost a lot, Madisonville gained a lot, or some combination of the two.
-
Iām not arguing that there arenāt some suspicious deaths around the Clintons. Iāll even concede that thereās a possibility they, or the govt is behind a few of them. That said, I could make a list of people I personally have known that have been murdered, died in car crashes, died in plane crashes, committed suicide, had heart attacks, died during surgery, etc. that could rival the list conspiracy theorists throw out there when accusing the Clintons of killing off half of Washington. And I donāt know, and have not been associated with, nearly the number of people they have. itās important to keep in mind that at some point literally every person whoās ever come in contact with the Clintons will die of one cause or another. Theyāre now in their 70s, as are many of their associates. Those associates are at an age where unexpected deaths are actually expected. Anyway, carry on!

Football season is upon us, and itās the time of year where posters get all up in their feels and start breaking forum rules. I encourage everyone to read through them if theyāre new to the site, or if maybe itās been awhile and you need a refresher. To help you out, Iāll go over a few of the ones that usually get broken here for your reading pleasure, and even provide a few examples for you: No profanity. This includes using symbols. Obviously not all profanity is created equal, but for certain words, or for using them to describe someone else, youāll catch a ban pretty quick. Keep it civil: no abusive or racial comments. acceptable: I disagree with that. unacceptable: youāre an idiot. acceptable: youāre wrong about that. unacceptable: Youāre an idiot. acceptable: quit asking me the same thing over and over. unacceptable: Iāll answer you when your mom leaves. I think yāall get the point here. Stick to the topic. This can get a little fuzzy at times, and itās okay to bring up someoneās comments on a previous thread, within reason. acceptable: when this team played last week you were saying something different. unacceptable: in the Benghazi thread on the political forum you made a point I disagree with. Acceptable: LCM is down 10. If they lose and we win this one, weāre tied for first in district! unacceptable: I just saw that Carthage is up 35 on Marshall. Theyād destroy this team if they played. again, use common sense. and finally, and probably most importantly, no bashing of teams, coaches, individual players, or communities. acceptable: the quarterback is struggling with his accuracy today. Unacceptable: this quarterback is garbage. Bench him! acceptable: the secondary canāt cover their receivers. Unacceptable: man, their wide receivers are torching #3! acceptable: I donāt like coach Harrisā game-plan. Unacceptable: this coach is a moron! Fire him! acceptable: I think Johnson is a better option at running back. unacceptable: this team isnāt going to win until they quit handing the ball off to Williams. acceptable: Hamshire Fannett doesnāt have enough parking, and needs turf. Unacceptable: The HF stadium sucks. They should bulldoze it. acceptable: this is a tough matchup for Williams. unacceptable: Williams isnāt good enough to be on the field in this one. Heās single-handedly losing the game for us. acceptable: it seems like we have to problems with the fans every time we go to Caneyhead. Unacceptable: everyone who lives in Caneyhead is white trash. Use your common sense here once again. Itās understandable to get frustrated with teams, players, facilities, and communities. If you canāt find a way to respectfully make your point, just keep it to yourself. i appreciate your time here, gentlemen. Hereās to a great season of SETX football, and an enjoyable season of posting on the best sports site in Texas!

Lumberton (38) @ Hamshire-Fannett (31) FINAL

Iām familiar with it š. I think what stood out to me is that he managed to target literally everyone involved in the game over and over. -
Lumberton (38) @ Hamshire-Fannett (31) FINAL
bullets13 replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
Feelings arenāt hurt in the slightest. I just read through the thread and realized almost the entire thing was him criticizing and complaining. He was there for the game and didnāt provide a single update or comment on a single play. All he did was gripe about HFs field and Lumbertonās play. It was one of the more impressive displays of negativity that Iāve seen in my 15 years on the site (at least outside of the political forum). -

Calvin Walker loses (I believe) his last appeal in Texas
bullets13 replied to tvc184's topic in Local Headlines
Having worked in BISD when all of the theft, fraud, and malfeasance went on, I still get angry when I hear about these stories. Iām not sure if Iām more angry about the crimes that took place, or about the way that many of the criminals were given a free pass by (parts of) the community. The crimes were incredibly well-documented and poorly concealed. The people who exposed the corruption were drug through the mud, and multiple members of the school board who allowed it to happen were re-elected after the state mandated takeover was complete. Iām so glad to be out of there. -

Last year I started off badly. Glad to be up near the top

Great play. Suspicions of his feet being out of bounds on the play, but if it counts, it counts! -

I think Fannett will have an okay season. HJ maybe not so much.
