  1. would love to hear the reasoning behind voting "nay" on this one. I thought maybe the republicans had a attached a bunch of crap to the bill, as both sides often do (see the fake border bill the left blames the right for tanking), but it doesn't seem to be the case.
  2. BC and their success against a 3A schedule vs. Lumberton and their struggles against a 5A schedule. Kinda tough to judge this one. I think it's safe to say that BC has improved and Lumberton is down from last year. The question is how they match up now that they've both moved the needle back to the center, and it's honestly kinda tough to judge based on the discrepancy in their schedules. I'm leaning towards the cards, but I haven't made my pickems yet.
  3. My predictions have been off, so I'm gonna refrain from making one, and stick to things I can verify through stats and results. From what I've seen, on defense Hitchcock is more vulnerable through the air than on the ground, although if you can be effective through the air it will open up things on the ground. They gave up 37 in a loss to Legacy SSS their first game of the season, and the qb had around 225 yds and a couple of touchdowns through the air. They gave up almost 50 in a win over HF, with Bryson going for 350 yds and 5 touchdowns against them (they did pick him off 4 times). I don't know anything about La Marque's style, but Bellville did almost nothing against their defense with Hitchcock being able to stack the line and key on the run. Silsbee will most likely need to move the ball well through the air to win this one. From what I've seen of the QB, he's capable of doing it. Still, with the injuries it feels like an uphill battle for the tigers.
  4. officials were bad in the first half. But that’s no excuse for the result, it wouldn’t have mattered. This cowboys team is not good. The problem is that Dak will probably do what he always does, which is rack up all-time great stats against all the bad teams on their schedule, and squeak them into the playoffs, and lose a first round game. Just enough for Jerry to do nothing to improve the team. But hey, maybe not this year. They’ll lose to some bad teams as well if they don’t quit allowing about 7 yds a run. I just don’t think there’s a point where they get so bad that Jerry admits to himself that it’s time to give it up. And it’s a shame that his son is in a position to take the team over when he’s done. I may be in NFL purgatory forever.
  5. We can at least talk about some of these games going on or results on here. I’ll start: if that last defensive play wasn’t defensive PI or at least illegal contact, Dak is gonna have a hard time today.
  6. Only took me four weeks to have a competitive week. 🙄
  7. Gotcha. Only getting updates on here, and your post came awhile after the previous score update, so I thought it was later
  8. Not good. Also not sure why he’s in with them up by almost 40 at that point
  9. This game needs to be a pickem 😀
  10. agree, as long as the defense doesn't give up a bunch of points like they did vs vidor.
  11. comfortable win for the horns. Can Bryson go 23-25 for 550 yds again?
  12. Just so we’re clear, I did not stay at a holiday inn express last night, and I don’t know much about high school football these days. 😬
  13. I know it’s making me feel even better about HF’s offense, but a whole lot worse about their defense 😀😀
  14. Wasn’t expecting a low scoring game based on what these two have done so far this season. Would love to see Hitchcock surprise me and win this one
  15. nothing against bellville. Hamshire-Fannett just played Hitchcock and the result wasn't great. IF Hitchcock beats Bellville or plays them close, that makes me feel a lot better about HF's prospects moving forward, and for that reason alone I hope that I'm wrong. AAW has always accused me of playing the "what if" game, and I won't do it here. I'll simply state that with all things considered, I think HF and Hitchcock are fairly comparable teams, despite their heads-up result, and would love to see Hitchcock perform well against a team like Bellville.
  16. 1. Barbers Hill 2. Lufkin 3. Silsbee 4. Jasper 5. West Orange-Stark 6. Anahuac 7. Coldspring-Oakhurst 8. Tarkington 9. Kirbyville 10. Centerville 11. Diboll 12. Fairfield 13. Teague 14. Anderson-Shiro 15. Buna 16. New Waverly 17. Lovelady 18. Joaquin 19. West Sabine 20. Mt. Enterprise 21. Colmesneil 22. Cushing 23. Kings Academy 24. Richland Springs 25. Union Hill
  17. I can see that being an issue, but they also seem to be the type of team where they plug in new players, rinse, and repeat. As long as there isn't a massive dropoff from last year talent-wise then i stand by my statement. They've played bad opponents the last two games, but a shutout is always fairly impressive. two in a row even more so.
  18. here's the deal for me: hitchcock is really good. super fast, athletic, talented. that being said, I think Hitchcock compares well to HF, Silsbee, Jasper, and WOS, and would compete for 1st or 2nd in our district (I know they beat HF, but I think those two teams are fairly even). That's an impressive thing to be able to say about a 3A school. but Bellville is GOOD. they proved me wrong last year. and they went through our district like we were scrubs. Beat WOS 49-7. Beat Silsbee 61-7. Beat Jasper 35-7. Unless Bellville dropped off a whole lot from last year I just don't see this being a close game. I don't expect 61-7, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if Bellville wins by 25-30 points. And I'll be happy to come on here and admit if I'm wrong. In fact, I hope I'm wrong.
  19. not sure why I'm tagged in this. I can't open the video, currently, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was valid. As for my thoughts, I think the statement "This video just sealed Trump's victory" is stupid. The only people who will truly care about this are already voting against Harris.
  20. don't really know about 538 per se, but that's probably a fair evaluation of a lot of them. "this poll of 13 voters in inner city harlem shows that 88% of New York supports Kamala Harris!"
