The whole region is insane, once you add in broaddus, evadale, lufkin pineywoods, grapeland, and big sandy to the teams listed above. 4,5,6,8,11,12, and 17 in the state in just 3 2A districts in our coverage area.

I thought all that depth was supposed to let Yates outrun the tigers. Looks like it was silsbee who ran them down at the end.

I tend to agree. After the pump game the kid was going back up in a shooting motion and got hammered, at least to my unbiased eye from the angle I watched

If they’d done the reasonable thing and played at Barbers Hill I could at least give live updates. I doubt anyone will drive all the way to SHSU to broadcast this game.

I’ll be pleased if HJ keeps it within 20. I won’t be surprised if they lose by 30-35.

Seemed kind of dumb to me. Barbers Hill is approximately 45 miles from HJ, 35 miles from Yates. Now Yates is traveling about an hour and 20 minutes, HJ almost 2 hours. Although I’m sure Yates is wanting the chance to play in that venue before regionals.

I’m a teacher, and TVC can attest that I’m at least adequate with a gun. I don’t claim to be brave, and I have a strong sense of self preservation. That being said, if someone was shooting up my school, I would gladly run towards the threat if I was armed, and I would pay for the training necessary for me to be able to do so. Unfortunately, the only weapon I have access to at school is the paring knife we used to carve jackolanterns every year, so if a shooter shows up I’ll only be able to lock my door and huddle in the corner with everyone else, hoping someone shows up to stop him before he makes it to my room.

Again... 10,000,000+ AR-15s in the United States. Less than 20 mass shootings using them. If the only reason for those guns is killing a bunch of people in a short amount of time, then what the hell is everyone doing with the rest of them? I have multiple valid reasons for owning mine, but I’ll wait while you explain what you think all of us AR-15 owners have planned.

It’s happened like 3 times in schools, a handful of other times in other venues. There are over 10,000,000 AR-15s in this country. You lose the argument when you start trying to dictate the rights of millions based on the actions of tens of people.
