I think Mike said carter was close to 60% from three, and that was before they hit the two late. I bet if you’d told carter they’d hit almost 2/3 of the 3s they took they would’ve thought they’d win in a blowout. What an unbelievable night from the FT line for the tigers! If they’d shot 66%, a number most fans would probably take, they would’ve lost by 7 or 8!

Carter is definitely a step up from the opponent today. Silsbee could’ve had a bad game today or gotten into foul trouble and still won. If silsbee has a bad game against carter, they could definitely lose. I still definitely expect them to pull it out, but carter is a really solid team.

I think Yates is a hair better than Carter. If they want to run with the tigers, i think the tigers will pull away at the end. Let’s say tigers win 91-74

3rd string made it a lot closer than it should’ve been. Silsbee was 35 points better than them.

Not me! I’ve been rooting for you guys for 3 years! Im still an HJ guy, but I don’t see us having much of a rivalry for at least the near future, so I’ve enjoyed watching y’all make your runs to state. Hear’s hoping y’all bring it home again!

They also beat 4A #11 Midlothian Heritage by 18, and 4A #7 Hirschi by 5. Their only loss on the year was to 4A #12 Argyle by 7 points.

That win oughta be enough to get us in. It wasn’t a good win, but it would’ve been a bad loss. I was kind of thinking they needed to beat West Virginia and win a tourney game. Hopefully it’s enoufh. Another win and they’re a lock.

He seems to be well respected in the community. Maybe there will be some value in that in uniting these two schools that couldn’t be achieved by an outside coach. I guess time will tell.

I hope they do well. But looking at Lipan's schedule they've played well enough to be a top-5 3A squad.

after I originally put solid, I went back and edited it to say "good" teams. Brazosport was #3 in the state, and West Oso #15. But I agree with you, Silsbee is elite, not solid or good. That being said, I think Somerset is no worse than Connally, who Silsbee beat by 9. so a lot will depend on matchups, and what kind of impact Somerset's big guys can have down low. But this is certainly a game Silsbee could run away with.

Somerset beat a couple of good teams at regionals to get here. What I really am curious about was their 4-point win against a team with a 13-20 record in the first round of the playoffs. That result tells me they’re plenty beatable.

To say the least. 36-1 with a 7-point loss to Argyle on the year. They beat Hirschi 4A #7, who lost in the regional quarters, spanked 4A #11 midlothian heritage by 18, who were beaten in the 4a regional semis in a close game by Seminole, who made it to state, beat 3a Kountze regional semi finalists by 16, and have won their playoff games by 45 or more until their regional final game, which they only won by 22. Lipan could possibly make it to state in 3A.
