  1. Huffman tearing them up. Maybe they’re turning it around over there, or maybe LaMarque is just getting worse. Don’t know much about either squad
  2. There you go. Thank you. I could tell whatever it was had them hyped up
  3. Rain and mud is the great equalizer. Especially considering that HF’s passing attack is going to be probably their biggest weapon this season
  4. Flipped over to this game in time to see HJ celebrating a touchdown, kick the XP and then them run off the field for halftime. Assuming some sort of Hail Mary at the end of the half
  5. Absolutely pouring at my house about 5 miles from the stadium. Definitely enough to where it’s gonna have a major effect on the game. Don’t see any lightning yet
  6. To some degree. They’ve had a great group of athletes come through the last handful of years, and he’s got interest up in the program with the success they’ve had, and has a lot more kids to work with than previous coaches as well. They’ve got enough kids for 4 teams this year. We also had a local guy build a big state of the art training facility and they’ve got kids playing AAU basketball and flag football, plus all kinds of skill and strength training. Some of the coaches from that coached the HF 7on7 state champs this summer. That extra work is paying off, and will continue to for future generations of longhorns to come.
  7. HF has a second JV, not sure what they're calling it, who beat Sam Rayburn JV 28-0
  8. Arlington National Cemetery worker was 'pushed aside' in Trump staff dispute but won't seek charges (msn.com) From the article: A defense official, speaking to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive matter, said that the Trump campaign was warned about not taking photographs in Section 60 before their arrival and the altercation. also from the article: The Army spokesman said the cemetery employee was trying to make sure those participating in Monday's wreath-laying ceremony to mark the third anniversary of the attack were following the rules, which “clearly prohibit political activities on cemetery grounds.” The whataboutism has to stop from you guys. Trump clearly broke the law with the obvious purpose of using these dead soldiers as a political stunt. clearly y'all don't have an issue with that, since y'all keep making excuses for his behavior. His exploitation of dead soldiers is deeply offensive to anyone who is willing to hold Trump accountable for literally anything, but a lot of you guys don't like to do that sort of thing. It's a totally different matter than when the soldiers were murdered. a better question is this: why were Trump supporters outraged when these soldiers were murdered, but not when Trump used their deaths to his political advantage by exploiting their memorial ceremony for political gain? I'm personally outraged about both situations.
  9. sounds like his team was all about it as well, to be honest. I've also read that it was spelled out for them before Trump got there. so his supporters can quit using ignorance as an excuse. the fact that he and his team were told not to do it, and that it was illegal, and then insisted on doing so anyway makes it painfully obvious what the motivation was here.
  10. BREAKING: Man charged with two Louisiana murders arrested at Total plant where he worked (kfdm.com)
  11. better than battlestar galactica?
  12. I'm sure more have it than don't. I'm glad I got to play football and soccer on grass. it has some benefits for football, but turf has absolutely ruined high school soccer.
  13. also worth noting that I don't see how 2 families would have the right to speak for all 13.
  14. not that i'm aware of, but i never dug too deep into the budget. I'm sure they'll keep pushing for it.
  15. sloppy field conditions could even things out a bit. not enough, but at least maybe keep it respectable.
  16. Trump went to the wreath laying ceremony, which is great. If his intentions were pure, it would be a fantastic gesture. but then he tries to turn it into a political exposure thing for his campaign. When his team was not allowed to film, BECAUSE IT'S AGAINST THE LAW, they tried to do so anyway and an altercation ensued. If Trump was there to simply honor soldiers, why was it so important to him and his team that he be filmed and photographed at the service? I think we all know the answer. Campaigning on the backs of dead soldiers is atrocious, which is why it's illegal to film and photograph politicians for political purposes at ANC to begin with. And of course his most ardent supporters don't see anything wrong with it. Can't even fathom that he'd do that, despite the glaring fact that his team freaked out when someone tried to stop them from filming and photographing him, and then have gone after the official who stopped them relentlessly in the media. it's clear the politics worked, at least for his diehards.
  17. huffman was really solid for several years up until 3 years ago. I was pretty surprised how quickly they dropped off.
  18. Huffman went 1-9 last year with their one win coming against 1-9 Splendora, 3-7 the year before that. This game is a tossup, and La Marque is probably the favorite, unless Huffman has a ton of fresh talent coming in.
  19. 1. Spring Westfield 2. Channelview 3. Tomball Memorial 4. North Shore 5. Summer Creek 6. Longview 7. Spring Dekaney 8. Crosby 9. Huntsville 10. Splendora 11. Hardin-Jefferson 12. 20. you've seen the HF defense play? I feel like this is a "no." HF defense has been fairly dominant in their scrimmages so far, from what I've seen with my own eyes and also heard. I'm not saying they've played great offenses, but nobody has made them "look poor" up to this point. we'll see what LCM does against them with their big O-line. And about this explosive offense... 5 of their 6 wins last year came against teams with a 7-44 record, and the only reason they managed 7 wins between them was because BC beat two 3A teams and there were four games where two of the five teams played each other and someone had to win. LCM played 4 solid teams last year (if we count WOS), and averaged about 8 points a game in those contests. So have they grown so much this season that they're now "explosive?"
  21. defense should still be pretty salty, but you're right, they lost some key guys. it's my understanding there are some solid pieces moving up as well, though. Pirtle is also back and healthy, and should be starting somewhere in the secondary. he's a ballplayer.
