It’s not true. Someone tweeted it earlier today and it went viral - the whole, it’s on the internet so it must be true. [Hidden Content] However, if my math is correct, which still puts it at like 87 percent of registered voters voted in that state. While not impossible like the fake news gone viral, seems quite improbable to be polite.

Top games to look forward to 2020-21 basketball season?

Arceneaux is a supremely talented player. And seems to me like Yates has that leadership gene. Porshia is a dog as well. I think they are going to be very, very good. -

Me too but I suspect Hightower might go unchallenged period. Griggs is different and then you add the transfers.... -

Based on talent, no one should be able to give them a close game. They have multiple high major kids on that team. But when dealing with 15-18 yo kids, anything is possible. -
Some changes to high school basketball per UIL
TxHoops replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in High School Boys Basketball
It won’t for the most part. I think next summer will be in full effect, including the circuits. Going to be rough sledding for the HS seniors with all the “free years” being given out. It was even announced last week that juco won’t burn a year this year. So, for instance, with a kid near and dear to my heart, he will get to play a year of high level juco and still have 4 years of D1 eligibility since he was a qualifier. Even those finishing their second year will come out with 3 years of eligibility left instead of 2. Kind of rough for the 2021s. -

If you are drooling with a finger knuckle deep in your nose, it will help sell the part. -
Couple of things. Good for HJ and Liberty. And shame on the other 4. Like i said, based on the facts of this case (as now verified by the young man’s father), the action taken by the DEC is reprehensible. I’ve seen it in the past too often. Men who say they got in a profession for the kids prove the opposite. Or at best prove they only got into it for “some” kids. Once residency is proven, that should be the end of the story. But it’s not because decisions are made “for athletic purposes.” Except not by the kid or his family, but by the school administrators who voted against him. That’s right. They, in effect, blackball a kid for their OWN school’s athletic purposes. Well done hypocrites. Well done.
-
What’s worse, the DEC is saying that if your kid wants to play varsity athletics, he has to go to private school. There is not even a public school option for him. This can’t be right. And if so, may be the dumbest DEC decision I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen some pretty idiotic ones.

Those of you making a totality of the circumstances argument (I.e., they’ve had too many transfers and we are going to put a stop to it), kindly remove your heads from your behinds so you can breathe. IF what is being represented here is true (the kid lives in HFISD and is transferring from Tekoa to HF...private school to his zoned public school), then the DEC absolutely butchered this one. I have no independent knowledge of this particular kid so that’s why I say “if.” But again, “if” that is true and the DEC voted against this kid based on what they believe may be occurring at HF, despite the evidence for this kid to the contrary, they should be very, very ashamed of themselves. And maybe reflect on why they got into the profession in the first place. Just sayin...

Yes. It’s usually the schools who have been the guiltiest who scream the loudest when someone else gets a transfer or two. Ironic isn’t it?

To quote Michael Corleone, “Now who’s being naive?” I’ve seen exactly what you claim would be a stretch happen. I’ve seen a head coach get infuriated with his AD for not voting against a particular player. And I’ve seen a chicken 💩 school get another one to try and carry the water to get a particular player voted down by a DEC, only to be sorely disappointed when they found out that kid’s parents weren’t going to lay down and let an eligibility decision be made based upon the other school’s “athletic purposes.” (I.E., not wanting to have to play that kid.). As I once heard a local superintendent eloquently put it, “if he was a 5’8” kid from Fred, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.”

McClure is a nice player. But let’s not get silly. Lamar was his first offer and he took it. We aren’t talking about a package deal type player (ala Ok St hiring Cade Cunningham’s brother or Missouri hiring Michael Porter He’s dad). If Mitchell got a job it would definitely be on his own merit. -
Welcome to SETX Sports, Mr. Hay.

Regardless of outcome in a head to head, I don’t know many (if anyone), who would not take Smalley over Mathews value-wise. In fact, based upon what Vidor pays Mathews...

Yes what a riches to rags story for the ages. Wonder why they haven’t made a feel good movie about ol’ Artie yet?

The horsemen are back baby!

What it’s looking like. Battle of the two teams with the best coaches in SETX for that Slot T offense.

Man I thought Vidor would be a powerhouse dropping down. Massive disappointment so far this season.

How’s that IHOP treating you cardinals? Would you like a cup of coffee with that fat, juicy L?

I’m not going to say Wise can’t coach. I do think the elite coaches are able to adjust their “systems” to their opponents. There are not a lot of elite coaches in HS basketball. We do have some in our area that are very adept at adjustments both to a particular opponent and in-game.

So ol’ Rudy had time to “revel” it in between being catfished by Sasha Baron Cohen? He’s a sharp one.
