  1. Yes, that’s primarily who their team is comprised of (UAA’s Hardwork). In fact, same coach even. Solid team. Best player is the big (Colbert) who is a junior I believe. Not near the horses Yates will face in Dallas though. We will see how they respond.
  2. Cornerstone 99 Yates 77 F A buddy of mine who is a Houston basketball “pundit” tweeted this week that if Yates has their bigs, they take down Montverde. Unless those bigs are Anthony Davis and Joel Embid, I need whatever he was having. And Yates is very, very good. But you can’t full court press, run and gun teams with elite national guards. Cornerstone has very good guards but not a one that would see meaningful minutes for MV.
  3. SA Cornerstone up 30 on Yates after 3. The Dallas games could get way ugly because Montverde AND Sunrise are way better than Cornerstone. Saw them last weekend in SA. They are good, but not national powerhouse good. They lost to Potter’s House out of Jacksonville, FL on Friday, who lost on a buzzer beater to Duncanville on Saturday.
  4. And here we thought SFA beating Duke was the biggest miracle last night. Watching the video (and Mack’s above might have been the most incredible I’ve seen) I would have said it was impossible there weren’t going to be a lot of casualties. Hopefully the 3 injured will make full recoveries.
  5. Not the best way to begin your birthday. But still hoping you have a happy one 👍
  6. Wow. It’s literally a miracle this wasn’t much, much worse.
  7. Are you guys being evacuated Mack? Regardless, please be careful buddy. Have people I know as far away as Buna and Lake Charles that felt it.
  8. No one gets calls against Duke. A team like the Jacks is going to get absolutely hamstrung. To win on the road with a 23 FT differential is amazing.
  9. The best player on one team and arguably the two best on the other. BC must have some depth?
  10. Dude, you struggled with Nicholls St, Arkansas, and Ole Miss, all of whom are beyond awful. We suck too but you have to come to terms with you’re terrible as well. The loss yesterday might have been the most impressive game of the season. We’ve both somehow managed to let a couple of private schools become the best teams in the state.
  11. This team has a chance to be really good. Anderson Kopp and Kain Harris still haven’t played either due to injury. Both should make significant contributions once they are back.
  12. @aTmfan06 is actually usually spot on and realistic about his team. When he thought Bellville could pull the upset tonight, I didn’t doubt him. Stangs need to protect the football next week or risk suffering the same fate as the Bulldogs. Should be a good one.
  13. He’s got at least another year and realistically at least two short of a complete train wreck. He’s not being treated differently than Charlie because his season last year surpassed any that Strong had in his entire tenure. Is he the right guy? I really don’t know. But he will have another year or two to prove himself. Some of the things he’s done tend to irritate me but maybe I’m getting old. The players seem to love him. I remember a time where OU was handing us our behinds in an embarrassing fashion year after year under Mack. The pot bangers were loud. They quietened for a time after ‘05. Maybe Herman will find another Vince Young. Maybe he already has. Time will tell.
  14. Yes they were. Maybe that was a down year for Yates but that would be an up year for 99% of the schools in this state.
  15. You think it’s bad in Houston? The best player (Arguably) on last year’s 6A State Champion Duncanville was at his 3rd school when he enrolled at Dville....FOR THAT SCHOOL YEAR! Family faith basically transplanted a whole team and coaching staff to their school. The reason the metroplex dominates San Antonio isn’t just because their players are tougher. If Yates has all their players cleared, they could end up being the best team in the state, regardless of classification.
  16. Yates should be the #1 team in 4A by a good margin. They just beat an arguably top 5 6A team last weekend.
  17. Great flick. As a previous poster mentioned, HF is going to surprise some folks and will only get better if they keep their new coach around. I haven’t met a single person I respect in the basketball community who doesn’t think Coach Rideaux can flat out coach.
  18. That’s a good early season win, especially after only getting the football kids this week. BC was really young last year and still played well. Good young coach who the players seem to really respond to. That district is going to be crazy competitive for playoff spots.
  19. Not like he does now. His improvement from Freshman year to now has been substantial (due to his work on this area of the game). Shooting and defense were the two areas of his game that college coaches (who followed him over that span) most commonly remarked about his improvement. To be clear, he could always shoot. But the consistency he’s developed wasn’t always there when he was an underclassman.
  20. Wow! Poor scorer probably ran out of room on the stat sheet.
  21. Cards get a 76-61 win against a solid Mt St Mary’s team. The Mountaineers held double digit, second half leads over Georgetown and #20 Washington before dropping both. Lamar led by 30+ in the second half.
