  1. I’ve only seen Barstow twice, Abel many times. So I’ve seen Abel twist off much more. Abel is almost invariably hilarious when he does it as well
  2. I agree. He reminds me a bit of PNG’s coach - both are loud and animated. I have been thoroughly entertained by them both.
  3. I saw them earlier in the season right after seeing splendora a couple of times and then Liberty shortly thereafter. I would have sworn they were a virtual lock for second in that district. They shot it well, had length and were active on the boards. Very impressive. And then you see scores that are head scratchers. I think they are headed in the right direction - just have struggled with consistency. Not unusual for a program that has had the recent struggles in general that they’ve had. But I can attest they are capable of playing extremely well when clicking.
  4. Why does this stuff matter so much more to aggy than us? Two words. Moral victories. It’s all they have, all they ever had. It’s really kind of cruel to take that from them...

  6. Warren is not a bad team. Heard an interesting stat from the Warren at Hardin game in the first half of district. Hardin shot 32 FTs, Warren shot 6...
  7. Having boys and girls play in the same gym is kinda cool in this district. Other than the standard foul every 8.2 seconds even in a 40 point lead game.
  8. Yes they would. They get one every year...
  9. 3 or 4 of those will be playing on one of the circuits together. Along with the #5 and the #9 on that list. #5 is 6-9 Eddie Lampkin. He’s grown since the summer and looked only about a half inch shorter than #20 when I saw them together earlier this month...
  10. Another commit - 4 star OL. Yawn [Hidden Content]
  11. First, an OC isn’t a position coach. In fact, it would have been his charge to run the entire offense at USC. However, if he was a position coach, that doesn’t belittle the recruit’s justifiable frustration. Many times a position coach is a deciding factor in these recruiting battles. It doesn’t matter if he was there a week or 10 years. If a young man chooses a school with the idea of being developed by a particular coach, and that coach is gone before he even arrives on campus...you get the picture. And the rich are going to get richer eventually anyway. It’s coming, not if, but when. Knowing the NCAA, it will happen sooner than later. Hang on to that jock for dear life aggy.
  12. Personally, 10 is too deep. A regular rotation of 8 is perfect for me, I know a lot of coaches that want 7. If you go 10 deep, they better all be similar skills wise (and that is almost never the case for a HS team) and you better have kids that are content with playing half a game.
  13. Bru’s situation is interesting but not new or unique. But if you commit to a school based upon a coach and haven’t even played a down, then the coach abruptly leaves, it’s always seemed fair to me to allow a kid to transfer without penalty. The Martell’s who don’t want to compete for a job are one thing. A kid who makes a life choice based upon the opportunity to learn from a particular coach who leaves before he even gets started is quite another.
  14. I’m better liked there for sure Haven’t posted there or even visited in about a year. Only one kid left playing there and the whole site lost its luster when the rivalries board died when aggy tucked tail and ran. But I like Looch and the site was one of the standard bearers for the fan message boards. I also miss my guy Jorts though. First class poster and a darn fine lawyer. But you’re right @Whoopi Goldberg's Lips I did notice Mack recycling a lot of their material on this site...
  15. I’ve also seen them a couple of times, once early in the season and once not long ago against a team with one of the better coaches in this area. I was equally impressed with their coaching in both games (one was a win, the latter a loss). Lumberton finishing the first half of district ahead of anyone not named Silsbee or HJ should exceed or at the very least meet any reasonable person’s expectations. In other words, with the talent available, they performed at their ceiling. Tough gig when fans aren’t satisfied with a coach getting the very best out of his team...
  16. EC 74 OF 39 End 3 Bucs are dominating every facet of the game.
