  1. I actually probably like this scene better. But I chose to post the iconic scene. Well, the one you posted and this one: [Hidden Content] ”well what the h&$$ you think you look like shootin’ them chili peppers up Lee Janzen’s a&&??” (Insert crying/laughing face)
  2. Celtics outplayed the Rockets for 45 minutes tonight. I was fortunate to have great seats for the game and was very impressed at where we are. I think we have a great shot at getting to the finals this year. And you are right. We are ahead of schedule. Was there with an Indiana buddy of mine and if we can sneak into the lottery with the Lakers pick (if it’s drawn between 2-5) and can get a rim protector in Ayton or Bamba, look out.
  3. Well, the two teams I thought were the most intriguing in 5A going into SA are meeting in the semis. (I know Northwest is ranked #2.). Midlothian probably has the best player in the 5A bracket left in Kaden Archie. But I love the depth and dog in this Titans team. This is going to be a don’t miss matchup on Thursday at 7 pm.
  4. Spoke to at least a half dozen “basketball guys” at the Delmar today, NONE of whom are affiliated with either school. Most were at the game, two were veteran referees. ALL agreed it was a bad call and most said it is a call you just can’t make regardless.
  5. And shoutout to @DannyShapiroBE for his coverage of this regional. Loved the postgame interviews.
  6. Mitch is heckuva player. SFA got a steal in signing him. But I’ve seen him multiple times over the past couple of years for the Lions and never felt like they ever found a way to get him as involved as he should be. I never thought he would be the difference maker today.
  7. So proud of Silsbee today. Wanted to be there but didn’t want to miss Memorial either. Going to see the Celtics end this Rockets street tonight so Delmar was a lot closer than Huntsville. I will say this about this group of Tigers. They are talented but they also have a tremendous amount of heart. Let’s be honest, most people other than us SETX folks thought Yates would be too much. Deeper bench, more size, endless stream of blowouts. But this tiger bunch is not one you want to make feel disrespected. In a classic battle, they wouldn’t be denied. They have two more dogfights left and I have no doubt they will be ready. Here’s hoping they find the will twice more and add a little back-to-back flavor to Tigertown.
  8. I get what you are saying about the offense for sure. Coleman is a ball-centric PG and the plan is to create shots by him being able to break a defense down. Sometimes works better than others with a freshman. We don’t shoot it well enough to effectively run motion. This group would probably be best running back screens like the old Pete Carril Princeton teams. But you aren’t going to ever get top talent running that.
  9. His job was safe this year if they lost out. They are playing a 7 man rotation, 2 of which would be playing spot minutes if they had all the players they started the season with. But it was a huge win and I will say it again, this team is all heart. And Shaka deserves some credit for that as well.
  10. Way to go Tigers!!! Great season Yates. To be the man, you gotta be the man. And as I predicted, you ain’t beating the man with that kind of press. What you might do is give up a 120 piece...
  11. Valsin with another rebound off miss of 1 and 1. Shooting 2 up 11 with 26 secs left.
  12. Makes 1 of 2. Clover with huge steal. Jones fouled shooting double bonus leading 60-54 1:02
  13. Elkins makes 3 and then Wesley and Valsin with 2 huge baskets. Tre Keller fouled after Clover rebound leading 59-54 with 1:13 left.
