  1. Mr. Buddy Garrity...paging Mr. Buddy Garrity...
  2. Westbury Christian is TAPPs 4A (smaller than Silsbee). But they are private so that helps. Fun fact:. I think former Heisman trophy winner and NY Knick Charlie Ward coaches their football team.
  3. Amen brother. Do the talking with your game. It's the only "speech" that counts anyway!
  4. Or that may have been one of my personalities talking to another one...
  5. A wise one once told me, those that talk the loudest before the game, usually have the most excuses after it
  6. That's my point. Sometimes when your best players are already playing in a traditional rotation, you don't necessarily get better when you add others and start rotating 12 to 15. Only 5 at a Ike can get on the court. And they wanted that game badly today due to a kid being higher ranked and more heavily recruited than them. Not sure result would be any different tbh. You might very well be right but not a given IMO.
  7. Silsbee's most impressive win last year was with the "Lite" squad vs. central.. Just saying.
  8. #1 now 2-0 against #3. And never uttered a word about it on Twitter
  9. Schedule says they play Dekaney at 1:40 and Westbury at 2:50
  10. It was actually #6 to #1. And #6 to #7. #1 can play and will unlikely participate in Twitter verbal wars. Humble kid who just goes about his business and leaves his talking to the court (And recently got invited to the Team USA camp at Colorado Springs). My guess is he ends up playing for Izzo at Michigan State. And just saw #4, Jordan Turner dropped 25 on Austin Westlake in an upset. In my opinion, he may end up being the best of the bunch.
  11. Next two games will be interesting. Dekaney has arguably the top freshman in the area and his brother Is a top 20 junior. Second game is a battle of the sophomores as Westbury has the top ranked and #7 players against Silsbee's #3 and #6.
  12. KJ is a bigger. Similar type of player though. Immense talent, and even more heart.
  13. Here's a video on Tyrone. You guys tell me if you don't see a lot of him in #4. I don't know if KJ will play football or baseball in college but he is good enough to play both. And you're right ladybug. I could see him as a kid who would have everyone talking if he went to your alma mater, UofH.
  14. 28 is a hoss. If LCM doesn't improve tackling, he will punish you 5-10 yards at a time.
  15. LCM wins. Could be a blowout, could be by a couple of scores. Depends on how well each play (and there seems to be a wide range for each of them). I will settle in the middle and say LCM 34-14.
  16. No. BCisBack assured us the WOS-BC game would be closer than the BC-LCM game when I said it wouldn't. So I guess HE has to lay 56 points with Cardinals now. I, on the other hand, will take the Bears +56 please.
  17. I know one thing. BC is Back has the Cardinals laying 56 points against LCM and is taking all bettors
  18. I remember a former player out of Midland named Tyrone Thurman. He was a 5'3" wr/kick returner. Texas Tech took him because he was a local kid and Spike coached him at Lee before going to Tech as an assistant. He ended up being a first team all American his senior year at Tech. And KJ reminds me a LOT of Thurman.
  19. I am shocked too that he doesn't have a Lamar offer. Would be hard to imagine he wouldn't instantly improve them as a kick/punt returner alone.
  20. Apparently on the track. With pads on, compared to KJ Miller? He looked pedestrian. He did have a couple of nice returns though. And he had trouble getting to the corner all night WOS looked like they had the 4 or 5 or 10 fastest guys on the field...
  21. Oh, and you don't get your behind whipped on the line of scrimmage and move the ball, I don't care what offense you run. And their big uns were a LOT better than your big uns. Speaking of, as is often the case, WOS's O Line probably doesn't get enough love. Those guys do a FANTASTIC job. The Mustangs are nasty in the trenches!
  22. You guys have to remember that personnel dictates what you can do offensively. The slot T is a great offense for teams like BC, Vidor and Orangefield. Why? Because you are not going to "out-athlete" the West Orange Starks of the world. Your best chance is ball control, keep it away from them and execute. BC didn't do that tonight and probably can't. But spreading the field brings speed as the key component and sorry, you lose there 100 times out of 100. I know BC has a few kids who are relatively fast but you do not have anyone on the same planet as KJ Miller, Shaw, etc. They simply made the opponents look like they were running with lead boots. Sometimes your ceiling is simply being a playoff team. And all you can do is your best. Unless Steve Worster finds the fountain of youth, BC isn't going to be a deep playoff team in sports that don't involve a bat. And that's not a slam on BC. You guys are WAYYY ahead of where you were a couple of years ago. And should continue to improve. But let's not take a blowout against one of the best teams in the state and think you have to reinvent the wheel...
