The officials signal 3, both the Harold Mann and the ESPN broadcasts both marvel at the fact it was called a 2 but BOTH said something along the lines of, I guess we didn’t have a good view or what do I know. The clock counts it as a 2 so I’m guessing the LU staff would have thought it was scored correctly. Fast forward to the 2:39 mark in the game and they add a point to SELA’s score as Lamar is getting ready to shoot free throws. And no one said boo. Really tough one for the cards.

We don’t overpay basketball coaches. We can’t or we might offend our overpaid football coaches…

They are unwatchable. When Sahvir Wheeler leads you in shot attempts, you are in trouble at that level.

I agree. And happy they once and for all proved me right when I said the Big 12 upgraded when they lost aggy but added Froggie. In the big 3 men’s sports anyway. I don’t think it’s even debatable anymore.

I’m not taking anything away from the HJ girls. They’ve made some great runs and probably should have a ring or two based on talent. But the games they lost were to other really good teams with really good coaching as well. But let’s also admit that Fogo before this year may have had the best HS girls assistant coach in the country. If he’s wasn’t THE best, Omar Sneed had to be on the short list.

Foster is as good a HS coach as I have seen. Teams are always a joy to watch. And the guy would give you the shirt off his back.

Beard just needs to wait and see if Buzz works out at A&M. Now that the Ags have ripped the bandaid off with Petrino, the stage is set for Chris to be the best basketball coach, and Briles to be the next football coach when the other half of their vaunted class leaves after another turd of a season.

And Buna is good enough to upset either OF or EC. The Connell kid has the ability to really get it going.

I do too. Like in football this year, they have the best player in the district and the best team. But it’s never easy to win in Winnie.

I agree and I like Buna for 3rd and not sure about Kountze or Anahuac for 4th. That could be a play in game as well.

The erosion of the presumption of innocence in this country should terrify us all. It doesn’t even make most people’s radar but I can assure you it’s a real thing. Social media is the great window into society (unfortunately) and this case is no different than most cases (unless we really like someone or they are in a position most of us revere - e.g., a cop is arrested while doing his job). Any news source or thread is mostly replete with “I hope he goes to jail and they throw away the key” or “she deserved to lose her job for what she did.” All over a simple arrest with no finding of guilt anywhere. If it doesn’t scare you, I can assure you that bullets is right. Your life could be potentially ruined, all over a potentially wrongful arrest (and by wrongful I mean an arrest that ends in a dismissal or acquittal).

That’s a great question. Leashes are usually shorter when you aren’t a hire of the current AD.

I know injuries are a part of the game but Brooks has been as snakebit as they come. The Cards have 8 players available tonight, 2 of them walk ons and another who was a walk on. It’s tough to win when you have 4-5 players who have started hurt.

Not that I’m aware of. And I think you are correct with athletes. But some good kids have gone through LCM in recent years who would have been mustangs.

They can fire him whenever they want but they better be prepared to pay the man. A good portion of what he’s owed anyway.

She’s got a history of violence and lost a HC volleyball job at the most prominent Hs in Lubbock because of it. This was when her fiancé was probably the most popular guy in west Texas (before becoming the most hated). I said from the beginning I would bet a large sum of money she bit herself. Seen it before, it’s in the crazy chick 101 playbook. I don’t know what he did or didn’t do, but I can’t imagine there’s a chance in hell he gets convicted for anything. And I would love for him to call me to sue my alma mater (if they are planning to use a for cause firing to not pay him). I would gladly take it on a contingency and call it a career when we collect. Hopefully he hires better representation than Coach Leach did when went after Tech.
