We are no longer dead last in 3 point percentage in D1 (which we were a week ago). We have moved up to 349 out of 352. Baby steps!

Ok I have to ask. I get the JM is James Madison but what is the TH? -

Pretty good. Still a bit surprising though. Grace did get 30 pieced by a really big, really good St Thomas team two days ago. But St Thomas may end up being one of the best teams in the Houston area. -
In all fairness, when Mattress Mack bets on you to win it all, it should be good for about 5-7 spots in the poll. That’s just good mojo.

Maybe…

I saw that after I posted A&M had as well. I thought that was a big no-no there so thanks for the clarification. I remember in my visits there walking on grass anywhere was strictly verboten and I certainly was respectful of that tradition.

I’m not a fan but I’m also not a killjoy. Let the students celebrate big wins. But with last night’s win over OU, Tech rushed the field in 3 out of their 7 wins this year. The Texas win seemed bigger at the time, but Cougar High and a 6 win OU team? A bit much imo.
-
Look I’m sure the Perrault kid is amazing. But the best player on the best team in the district (on both sides of the ball) was a layup MVP. Add to that he rushed for almost 2500 yards (on way less Carries than you would think)? A QB would need to pass for about 3500 yards or have about 4-5k all purpose yards to put up similar numbers. I highly doubt that’s the case here. This was just another example of watering down awards to make sure everyone gets a ribbon. Been going on for years and it is what it is. Even when it’s as easy as it was here.

Did they bring Robert Strait back? If not, I’ll take a Tiger against a Turkey, all day every day.

Watching gameday reminds me why we are blessed to live in Texas. I don’t know what is uglier in Ohio, the weather or the women…

Senior day for maybe my all time favorite Longhorn. I think he still has a lot of football left in his career but he represents everything that college athletics should be about. Probably not what he envisioned (or what we envisioned) when he arrived at the 40 acres. But his time there won’t soon be forgotten by the Longhorn faithful. Well done Shug. You’ve made all of us proud.

Sorry but the co-mvp thing is weak. There was one player in that district who was EASILY the best. But we live in the day of throw the second place team (or third place or whatever EC was) a bone.

Good post and I don’t disagree with a single word of that. I guess other than one WOS player single-handedly beating the Bears and I don’t disagree with that because I missed that game and can’t confirm or deny it. But I get your point.
-
And for the record, the Bears are my 4th favorite team in SETX and pull for them in 90% of the games they play. Also have family that plays for them. So definitely not a hater. Some of their fans can be super annoying at times but that’s literally every school (although some have more than others). My original post was an attempt to cheer up the OP and a little trollish at some of our resident Bears. On a bright note, the Bears should be formidable in the other two big sports.
-
You both lost in the first round of the playoffs and WOS beat you head to head. I know moral victories may be more of a thing north of the interstate, but what are we claiming here? 6-5 vs 5-6? In a year where teams were lined up to get their kicks on the Mustangs like below, the Bears still played the little brother role. You call it being a hater, I call it being non-delusional.
-
Chin up. Just think, as bad as it was this year, you were still better than LCM. Things could always be worse…
-
It’s certainly possible. UNC’s 13 scholarship players will all make $1M per year before any individual endorsements. They basically put together a $13M per year annuity. Oscar at UK is making $2.7M. Before NIL, you would think there is no way Bijan Robinson would come back to Texas for another year. Not so sure now.

It really is crazy how quickly things can go south.

Is Toby available?
-
Not going to win many games with that stat line.
-
If we don’t figure out how to defend the 3 ball it’s going to be tough. I think they shot 12-36 which is actually low for an opponent. Can’t find the final stats but we were 2-14 at one point. When you play 3 six foot and unders, you better be able to shoot it at a high clip. Because the other team is just going to shoot over you.

That’s a true story 😂 United will be fine. Probably a good thing to get off all that “nationally ranked” meaningless junk. I expect them to be a contender again this year, although the jump from 5A to 6A is significant. As for Booker T, it will come down to them and Silsbee again. Booker T will have done more revamping and Silsbee will still have the best player on the floor. Will likely come down to how well the above referenced player shoots the ball. He is capable of scoring 40 and he’s also capable of delivering double digit air balls. One of the streakiest shooters (especially considering the extremes) I’ve ever seen.

Best fans in the country 😂🤣 #GomersHaveHadEnough

Played MUCH better in a 7 pt overtime loss to West Carolina. Lamar would have lost this game by 20+ if they had played like they did yesterday.
