  1. Been telling people #23 was the best player in the county since before the season started. People who only look at points scored get confused. But that kid is a gym rat that can flat out play and makes his teammates better. Congrats Cards!
  2. Man among boys out there. Makes it look so dang easy too.
  3. 42-19 4 mins left in 2nd Dunkometer is 4 or 5 to 0.
  4. Nvm. I see where they switched gyms.
  5. I think the only egregious part is that he lied about it. Just stand your ground and say you decided to take advantage of a rare occasion to spend time with your wife and kids. That you are a husband and a father before a Senator. And that you plan to do everything you can do to assist the people in Texas who are actually tasked with these decisions. But apparently he panicked and went another way initially. I know these guys have advisors and many are apparently terrible. Not that anyone should have to be “advised” to tell the truth. I don’t know why I would expect different from politicians. They are like children who will run a mile around the easy truth to tell a ridiculous lie.
  6. Sahvir doesn’t and he has been the starting PG for UGA the last two years. And I would argue that Bush’s ball handling and ability to shoot the basketball had much more to do with his success than his vertical. But I get your point and winced at comparing him to those guys to begin with. Just a reference point on size. To compare almost anyone to Braelon is heresy to be honest. He’s was as good as I’ve ever seen in high school.
  7. Most 7th graders do continue to grow. I know of two who were always too short and told they couldn’t - Sahvir wheeler and Braelon Bush. Both were/are starters at D1 schools as freshmen, despite being undersized. I’m not putting that kind of hype on this kid yet, but I CAN tell you he is an elite ball handler, passer and shooter right now. On an elite varsity skill level. In fact, he’s probably as good as they’ve got in that school district right now as a 7th grader. But I will agree if he gets taller, bigger, and stronger it will take him to another level.
  8. That definitely happened against Lumberton. I wasn’t aware Mitchell was coaching the 7th grade team. But they definitely ran a triangle and 2 against him and tried to deny him the ball.
  9. I like Abbott but I think he’s done. Crenshaw runs on the Rs posturing for a national run (which I’m all for). Matthew McCon (however your spell that name) is rumored on the D side but I can’t imagine why he would want to trade in the life he has for the headaches of Governor of Texas. And I’m not sure anyone could beat Crenshaw. He’s as good as we’ve got in this state.
  10. Science is a tough concept to get through the tin foil hat...
  11. I thought I did when I quoted LRF’s post. That is a premise that has a ton of support, but hasn’t been proven with absolute certainty. So AGAIN, while many understand the difference, not sure you do. And not everything is liberal and conservative. Some of it is apolitical. But the low information folks on BOTH sides have trouble grasping that too.
  12. You are changing the narrative. Every time it gets really cold, you post something about global warming. Which indicates you don’t understand how climate change works. So you either do or you don’t. LRF understands the difference. I’m not sure you do.
  13. Ding ding ding - we have the correct answer. But it does appear “some” are saying it.
  14. You’re right about Paris too. No pushover.
  15. Oh didn’t know they were doing it that way. So definitely favors Yates. I would say the best three teams in the classification are FF, Argyle and Carter in no particular order. If Yates doesn’t have to face any of them until the Finals, sets up a much easier path for the Lions.
  16. Won’t affect Yates. Good news is it looks like you guys will have a cake walk to the Final 4. Bad news is once there, you’re probably at best the 3rd best team there Depending on the draw, could make it to the title game though.
  17. Oh it is absolutely true. It was a conscious decision to compete with the DFW districts who have been playing fast and loose with the rules for years.
  18. Their districts sure did. Although from what I heard, Hooohead is partly wrong. Huffman definitely voted against the kid being able to play for the school in the district where he has lived for some time (in one of the most chicken feces votes I’ve ever heard of by a DEC). My understanding is HJ voted to let the kid play. But I’m sure you’re right that the coaches weren’t the ones who were actually voting.
  19. By all accounts on here from folks who were actually there (and I know and trust ST413), trying to compare this with the brawl at the Bear Cave a few years ago seems more than a stretch. I’m not sure why some would seem so eager to see some kids’ seasons ended. I hated it when it happened back then, although I understood it.
  20. Are you trying to say that actually being at the game, really close to the action, is more reliable than what someone else “heard”?
  21. That’s fine. Check your PMs though.
  22. I did not. Didn’t attend HS in SETX.
