See what?.. You said setx would be considered behind the times for not building one of these. I've said setx is behind the times since I've been a member. A field like this has nothing to do with it. Facilities is just one part of the equation.

There are a lot more reasons than turf fields that go into why setx is behind the times. But it's slowly happening. Few and far between...but happening nonetheless.

Well, at least 1 admin (not to mention any names) knew about it because they were right in the dead middle of the "off topic conversation". That...like I said...went on for several pages. All I'm saying. Why can't off topic posts just be removed? Without getting rid of the entire conversation...

You quoted my post before you "simply posted the rules regarding slander or rumors". Why wouldn't I think you were referring to that post in regard to slander and rumors? By the way...when this thread was deleted the first time for being "off topic" people were having a conversation about a coach that may or may not be good for the Woodville AD position...which is what the name of this topic is. The thread that I was referring to...for subsequently being "off topic"...is still alive and kicking over in the basketball forum. Hasn't been a post recently, but it wasn't deleted. Nobody is saying you guys aren't appreciated for doing what you do. I know I get a kick out of this site. But if the staff of setx is going to delete threads for being off topic...do it to all of them.

Please underline exactly what it was that I typed that you consider rumor, suspicion, or slanderous. I simply pointed out a thread that started off as a conversation about 2 basketball teams that were playing in the state finals game....and literally, the last 2+ pages of a 17 page conversation were about a few individuals setting up a golf game for money. Then...talking about the history of Silsbee golf. Including posts (about Golf) by setx admin. I encourage you to review that thread and tell me that I'm wrong. Then please review my previous post and point out to me exactly what words I used that were against forum rules.

This thread was off topic for literally several pages. Including posts from setx admin...so...we picking and choosing what's allowed to stay on topic? Not that I care...because I really don't. Forbes Magazine rated Beaumont as the dumbest city in America...if you're talking about raising IQ, don't give all the credit to removing just Livingston. Just saying.

They will not hire the right coach. Because "right" is a relative definition. Every coach (good coach) in the state has already heard about and have talked about this latest little incident with criminal charges being filed on the head coach for excessive punishment. So several good ones shied away because of that alone. That being said. There will still be some perfectly capable football coaches go after this job...just because it's a head job. So a lot of people will have the attitude "I can overcome all of that". But it won't matter. HF will be subpar because their best player / 90+% of the offense graduated. But the fans won't realize that...they'll have unrealistic expectations anyway I'm sure. So whoever they hire will be a "bad" coach in the eyes of the community. There's my prediction...

Fantastic. Now what's to stop every school in the area (that's on or around the projected border) from trying to turn in fewer numbers? Nothing...except.."doing what's right"... Sounds like it might be worth it to me.

This is where you get ridicule. 1. WH had 40 kids last year? and a JV? I think you may want to fact check. 2. HD, WH, and Colmesneil will barely have 50 kids combined this season playing football...again you are not realizing how numbers, school enrollment, and participation coincide together. 3. You were undefeated out of the worst schools in all of the state in that classification...and lost to Alto. 3 points or 30 doesn't matter. They lost to a team that didn't even get out of the region either year.

Sigh..ok. This is the last time I'm going to explain it. If you don't understand after this, then you're just a moron. How many kids do you guys have in high school? About 160. Let's say half of those are boys..that's 80. You're saying there should be 40-50 playing football. That's half..or more. There isn't a single school in the area for sure..likely the state..where half of the boys in the school are playing football. Do you understand that? Now..these boys that are in high school now in HD either were 6th graders that played in JH, or played with 6th graders in JH. Do you know what that means? It means there weren't enough boys to play football. Are you the only one not getting this? Did you think these same groups were going to magically have an influx of participants because you guys won State in 1979? You dropped in the smallest class in the state that has 11 man football. Because of numbers. These kids were forced to use 6th graders in JH. Because of numbers. We all knew these kids wouldn't have enough players to have a JV in high school. Everyone but you. It seems to me that the problem is you aren't facing reality. I make a lot of people mad on this site because I say what most people won't..but you are the most infuriating person of anyone that posts on this site. You give the word delusion a whole different meaning.

Which is the only chance you have at making a playoff spot anyway...no matter who is coaching. If you truly believe HD should have 45-50 boys playing football then you're absolutely clueless. Not a school in America has a % of students that high playing football. You're talking well over half of the boys in the school. That's ridiculous. You guys better leave Hodges alone. Nobody else wants to come there I can assure you. By the way..you were only competitive for 3 years because of 4 kids that aren't even Daisetta kids.
