  1. 8-5A-D1 1. Crosby - Crosby played 31 of a possible 32 games last realignment. Austin Westlake was the only 5A/6A school to play all ‘em all. The move up in class will be a challenge but Crosby is 13-1 the last two years in district play, at this point y’all just need to beat us. 2. BH/PAM - BH has a lot of very good individual skill players returning. You see how far FB Marshall’s great skill players got against BH’s trench play though. BH lost some good trench guys and the best backfield they’ve had in 15 years. We’ll see how they restock. 3. PAM/BH - PAM is the plant workers version of Humble when they were in 5A. Regional final talent with district runner-up coaching. How do you replace Sanders this year when you never showed an ability to develop a second act last year? 4. Baytown Lee - Probably has the best coach nobody in the coverage area talks about because of where he is. I think the kids from back there off the state streets still get in the dance. 5. Kingwood Park - I really don’t know why I think KP will be better than they end up every year? 6. Porter - I think you’re getting into some bad teams here and Porter is just the best of the bunch. 7. GCM - Looks good getting off the bus and if the new coach is any good they should be able to beat Sterling. 8. Baytown Sterling - Somebody has to be second to last in a nine team district. 9. La Porte - Hate is didn’t work out for Coach Tarr but the fishing at Sylvan Beach was probably going to be better than your football team and you ain’t catching **** out there. They should be in the running with Sterling and GCM for the “everybody gets to play game”.
  2. Now that the UIL has both screwed and helped some of us with our new district realignments, I was wondering what some of y’all’s predictions are for your team? Particularly how your district finishes and your team’s placement.
  3. St. Thomas had a qb last year that probably would’ve started for everybody in the Golden Triangle besides PAM and maybe PNG. They’re not constrained on transfers so you don’t know who might show up there between now and next season. Nacodoches is not good but they will be a good test simply because they’re going to have a lot better athletes than the L-Train. Very solid non-district schedule overall though. If Lumberton goes into district play with better than a 3-2 record they may actually be a factor this year come playoff time.
  4. I don’t care about the race of kids either. I was just pointing out a once rural town on the west side of cattle country has a higher hit rate than North Shore in a certain demographic. It’s an anomaly that probably nobody else in the state can copy. There’s no more benefit at Aledo than there is at Arlington Martin who sends more kids D1 in every sport and produces better college players. The statistics just are what the stats is are.
  5. Those are two solid non-district games for BH, especially the Magnolia West game in the trenches which is where you want to be tested early in the season. If BH is going to be good they should kill Montgomery though. They lost their stud back and the coach’s son at qb. That’s being said it feels like with Abseck’s connections they should be playing more marquee games than that?
  6. Lol, on this documentary the 6’6”(Polynesian) lineman moves in and and the black kid who plays on the defensive line talks about transferring from Everman, I believe. This is the exact definition of “them just showing up” as well as goes to my 2% comment on why the numbers are skewed.
  7. Crosby complete schedule:
  8. Actually, next year will make it 3 of the last 4 games played in BH.
  9. Notable Houston area non-district matchups: [Hidden Content]
  10. Crosby Week 1 - @CE King Week 2 - FB Marshall Week 4 - @Barbers Hill
  11. There you go, Longview has a lot better players than Carthage or Liberty Hill so they should absolutely kill is, no questions asked. Good luck to you guys too.
  12. Longview is really the only team on there to worry about. JT is 3-8, 2-7 and 6-5 the last three years, that’s not going to move the needle down here. Great talent out there but of Holmes was really that type of coach he would create more consistent results. Lol, they lost their first round game by 40 last year. Lancaster lost by the same 20 points to Longview to end their season as the did to PA Memorial to start the season last year. Beating up on a bunch of trash in between isn’t that impressive.
  13. Y’all have a lot of talent. Way more than Crosby and should walk through the region. The last thing we are down here is worried though. I mean, y’all already finished second to us once: [Hidden Content]
  14. Waiting to confirm the weeks but Crosby's two non-district games will be CE King and Fort Bend Marshall. For those that have never seen Crosby and play CE King when they're both good, it's sight to behold. I remember Crosby showing up on CE King Parkway 9-0 in 2014. Crosby had Sqwirl and Grace, CEK had Traveon Williams who ended up setting A&M's single season rushing record before being drafted by the Bengals. Long story short, the only way you could get tickets after that Wednesday was to buy them from the kids scalping them outside the stadium before the game. Feeling pretty good about starting 2-0 though. I think Crosby is just straight up better than FBM. I just got though IM'ing with CE King's qb dad and he told me they lost 17 of 22 starters so I see them as ripe for the picking also.
  15. Frisco ISD schools alone last year: Frisco Liberty - 10-2 Frisco - 10-2 Frisco Lone Star(the best Frisco team) - 9-3 Frisco Wakeland(knocked out Highland Park) - 9-3 Frisco ISD will probably sweep district 5 unless Timberview knocks one of them off. If we can win the district we'll play from the same position College Station did last year, meaning we wouldn't possibly see a district champion until the third round. I've charted us something like this; 1st round - Mckinney North/John Tyler, 2nd round - Frisco, 3rd round - Longview
  16. Their qb Jakoby Banks will be back and they have a running back that's pretty good when Banks decides to hand him the ball. Their two big D1 receivers are gone but I wasn't real impressed with Banks passing numbers for the year anyway. He's committed to UH to play in the slot and does have elite track speed though. FB Marshall is a transfer destination for the HISD kids close them so who knows what type of athletes they'll acquire over the offseason? More than anything else, their defense will be a problem for district teams. BH was able to beat them up at the line of scrimmage last year, I don't think anybody in the district will be able to replicate that though. Not to mention James Williams is no slouch on their sideline. Pretty simple theory though; Win district and if you can figure out Liberty Hill's slot-T you're going to play for a title.
  17. I think Longview is really the only beast in that district. If you can't beat those other teams in that district in the state they're in now then you don't need to be in the discussion anyway. I think that Frisco district is a lot more loaded.
  18. Going to be a 4hr drive from Tyler or McKinney to Crosby too.
  19. Yep, PNG will have a two and a half hour ride one way to play the Fort Bend schools in Missouri City. Probably three hours on the way taking into consideration the traffic on the southwest side of Houston.
  20. "We" meaning the district as a whole. 4th place team from this district will have a 4hour ride to Longview for a first round game.
  21. How awesome. We get to play bi-district games in Dallas🙄
  22. Coach’s reaction today when they find out Crosby is in their district: [Hidden Content]
  23. That's beside the point. Can he win a title in less than 7 years is the only question that needs to be discussed.
  24. Actually, Stepp said he was only 99% sure of that. Honestly though, at this point in Crosby's progression I would just be happy about any class we play in where we can avoid the slot-T.
  25. To Aledo's credit, whatever they're doing out there is obviously legal since I'm sure the UIL has checked. Yes, the qb this past year was a transfer from California. Got to see him up close last year in Dallas. They also had an offensive lineman come from California a couple years earlier, he was a 6'6"/315lbs 4* that ended up signing with Michigan. I'm sure it's all a coincidence though.
