Heck Yes! 12/12 at the stripe and 12/14 from the field. Does anyone appreciate professional basketball on this forum?
I still tune in, but the game has evolved into refereeing ''degrees'' of fouls. Basketball used to be a non-contact sport where one of the objects was to try and stop your opponent from scoring without fouling him. Now it has come down to the ''cheap'', ''intentional'', and ''flagrant'' fouls. PLus they added a 6th foul so there are more to give, and players stay in longer. These guys today couldn't play by the old rules. They'd all foul out.

Jim Furyk.....the 5th ranked player in the world, gets his second victory of the young season today, but I pick him to win the Masters and he doesn't even make the cut. In fact, he wasn't even close. That's not bad picking on my part, that's just golf. ::)

Great pitching from the Horns recording two shutouts in this series. Horn's bats seem to be alive and well too. We will be discussing Kirby Bellow on this forum this time next year. Hook 'Em!

I'll take a one hitter anyday. ;D Way to go Kirby! Pitchers go out with a win on their mind. If a no-no happens, then fine. If it doesn't, then so what. He was still dominating as heck. Nolan Ryan had 12 one hitters. -

Yep, typical Phil...he must have been the only player blowing putts at the Masters ;D Still a great approach shot and a pair of kahunas to even attempt it instead of laying up. The greens at Augusta are like no others in the world. It's what makes the Masters what it is. +1 and even par have won this tournament, so hats off to anyone scoring way below that. Also, what a tender moment for he and his wife. I wish them both well.

What a magnificent tournament! Unbelievable shot making, nerves of steel, determination, never looking back. Nope, it's not Tiger Woods (he got enough press and never led). It's Phil Mickelson, playing possibly the best golf of his career. Almost making three eagles in a row was insane Saturday, but that shot between the trees today was one of the best I have ever seen......ever! What a great win for a great person. On a side note....I thought it was really strange that Choi and Woods were paired each day and shot identical scores. How often does that happen?

Woods: 'I've done some pretty bad things'

I'm an equal opportunity disliker. Kennedy, last great Democratic president. I didn't like the fact that he fooled around with Marilyn Monroe, but I was just a kid at the time. Look what happened to her for her involvement (that's a long discussion for later). No matter how great he was, see what you remember about him? Clinton lied to Congress and should have had the book thrown at him. Monica Lewinsky seduced him and set him up. Why else would any woman not wash a blouse for months? These facts still don't excuse Clinton. Tiger Woods didn't just have a tryst or one night stand. He was sleeping with everything around, risking disease and possibly bringing that stuff home to his wife (if they were still intimate) and even his kids (I still think aids is spread through saliva). No one has said anything about not allowing him to continue to play golf. You can take all the punks you mentioned in the NFL and kick them out of the league. I wouldn't miss any of them. The only thing I ask anyone to do, who may think what Tiger did is ''not so bad''.....think how they would feel if their spouse did it to them. i bet that would be some serious stuff then! -

Pretty good start!
he did. 2 off the lead. Fred Couples is alone in 1st at -6. Tiger looked very good considering his 5-month layoff!
Can't remember - but isn't this the best Tiger start relative to the leading score ever?
Best start for Tiger ever in the Masters. He has never played the first round under par.
I thought PNG and Nederland would be Mid County lol im confused..that's why it's called mid county madness..and Jefferson would be HF, HJ, and Beaumont schools?
HJ is Hardin County. What's on second. I don't know is on third.

Final Four Thread/Butler advances to the finals!!!

This player was injured at the 9:00 minute mark. He had scored only 4 points by then and Duke was ahead by 15. I think it is great that coaches show emotion for their players and have a certain type of closeness, but my wife and I both thought he was going to kiss him. -
Els has been playing great lately. I call him ''Mr. Perfect Swing". How do they arrive at the original pairings for the Masters? Someone told me but I forgot.

What's not to like about Duke....except that they have been a very successful program? Success breeds contempt. As great as Duke always seems to be, they should have a couple more titles, IMO, but those are very difficult to get. Butler beating Syracuse, K State, and Michigan State, shows to me that they are not intimidated by Duke at all. Duke beating Baylor (who I thought might just beat Duke) and W. Virginia, shows the caliber of game we are in for with these two teams. I like Duke in this one, but if Butler pulls it off I won't be too upset. They are a fun team to watch and their coach is a class act (so is Hayward) who doesn't get very excited. He's cool and calm. Coach K is a class act too. This will be a very good game. -

All the time. It's called life. You need to reread my post and see what I said about the game.
What do you do for a living? Let me come to your job and second guess you on how you mowed that yard. Yes you touched a nerve. We put our lives and families on the back burner so we can coach kids and the game we love. This is our job, not a hobby that we get to do after we finish our "real" job at 5:00. I know that is what we choose to do and I can handle being second guessed, because no other job is put out there for all to see the results. But, it's not fair for you to sit there behind a screen name and judge or question someone that is around his kids all the time and knows what is best for his team. I promise you, KG is one of the best coaches in this area and he does everything within his power to make sure that his kids are prepared night in and night out. Vidor will be there in the end and this will all be a distant memory.
All coaches are second guessed all the time, no matter what. If a coach can't handle being second guessed, he needs to find another profession.
Obviously you can't or you wouldn't have jumped me. Whether or not to start Hester made for a lot of second guessing. No one has questioned the dedication of the coaches to the kids, but this is what they always fall back on. I never said anything about Green not being a good coach. Don't put words in my mouth. Try watching ESPN on NFL draft day....talk about second guessing.....and don't lie, you do it too. I inspect parts for a manufacturing firm......fire away.

All coaches are second guessed all the time, no matter what. If a coach can't handle being second guessed, he needs to find another profession. I already said I applauded coach Green's decision to not start Hester as some type of mind game. It just didn't work the way he planned. It's not the end of the season for Vidor by a long shot. I think the main thing is that most people who love baseball wanted to see the showdown between these two great pitchers and were denied that by coach Green. Just the way it is. Nothing wrong with feeling that way at all.

Great game Dogs! Way to mow 'em down Kirby!

What I got from the PA News articles is that Vidor coach is playing some head games by not announcing his starter until game day. He also said that if Hester does not start, he will pitch at some point. I understand all the hoopla behind this approach and commend him for it. The thing is that both teams have to just go out and play the game.....putting the ball into play, no matter who is on the mound. I give the edge to Nederland at home. Good luck to both teams. I hope to be in attendance for this one.
