  1. Oh yeah Diva, Luke Scott is an integral part of the Astros. He is the best bat after Berkman...at least I think so. To look at Berkman, he doesn't seem like he has a baseball bone in his body, but he is one of the best.
  2. I think this is a good signing since Clemens said he would not play for the Astros until they signed someone to bat cleanup. Berkman was getting too many intentional walks since pitchers didn't fear the hitter behind him, especially Ensberg. Berkman is their best hitter and needs to see some pitches. Lee should give him that opportunity. Hopefully Clemens will agree and play one more year.
  3. Micah Mosley/Nederland/ 37 carries--257 yds.--2 TDs
  4. Thanks man. I'm really not trying to PO anybody, just playing devil's advocate. I have qustioned our play calling from time to time, and I have seen it on other teams as well. Teams can be successful doing a certain thing all the way down the field. Then when in the red zone, all of a sudden change their strategy. I'm a firm believer in the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" type mentality. If your spread is successful for 99 yards and 30", then it seems it should work for 6". If he ran the keeper from the shotgun, then that is a QB draw, which is usually very effective because the safeties can't bunch the LOS due to coverage. It also give your QB a chance to find a hole. I'll let this go because I know this kind of loss is hard to take. I just hate to see it all put on one coach, player, or play.
  5. Hey, I'm trying. I have seen lots, and I mean lots of QB keepers come up short or even lose yardage. The snap is often mishandled on a quick snap play like the keeper. Had he tried the keeper and failed, then he would be questioned for not going from the spread. I still say he went with what got him there. I truly don't think he coached to lose that game. One of my favorite plays close to the goal line (inside the 10) is to roll the QB outside with the option to pass or run it in himself. It's unbelievable how many times the TE or RB out of the backfield can be open on this play. Even Drew Bledsoe (concrete feet) has scored on this play by taking it in himself.
  6. Some of you WOS people might tell me to mind my own, but isn't that the same OC that had you undefeated 'till the Giddings game? When you have athletic QBs and RBs like WOS has year after year, I see no problem with the spread on the goal line. Please tell me the advantage of being under center as opposed to the spread, except for a QB keeper, which is absolutely not a guarantee either. He went with what got him there. Just my humble opinion....that and .50 cents might get you a cup of coffee.
  7. Reread my post about the watch, I guess it didn't sink in. My pacifier is that we made the playoffs when everyone was picking against us. If you dodged every game you are supposed to lose (on paper), you'd only play a couple games a year.
  8. I'm undecided...check this out for a 40 year old pitcher. [Hidden Content],pos=P,team=010
  9. Me too. I'll be eating turkey or ham for about a week. My wife makes the best cornbread dressing and giblet gravy (half of my plate). I really need to eat like this year 'round.
  10. This is nothing new to either team. You are not going to play the ranked teams in Texas only in the later rounds. They are there from the start for some. If you are going to win the state title, you are going to have to beat these types of teams sooner or later. If you beat them early, the road could go downhill.. Hopefully, that's the case. Good luck to all area teams.
  11. Already had seconds...watching the Cowboys...will eat again, then dessert.
  12. Well, that settles it then. I sure was close for a guess.
  13. Trying to figure out how some people get a 'cush' job like that? Does your Dad own the business?
  14. Happy Thanksgiving. We all have lots to be thankful for. Enjoy the holiday with your friends and family. Say a prayer for our troops everywhere.
  15. With the past RBs Nederland has had, this really speaks volumes. Congrats Micah.
  16. Awesome, Dravannti deserved that for sure. Didn't see the stats on either, but I was at the Ned. game and Dravannti was amazing. Congrats to Thomas.
  17. When the center stands up and hands the ball to the QB, wouldn't that be a false start?
  18. Much better. Just what is it about my opinion that makes you so strongly disagree? Nothing I said is ridiculous. Some team's best game will not overcome the competition. I think WOS, Dayton, and Newton's can.
  19. Ah, so true my friend. I can get my opinion across without the aid of the caps lock key. Why are you screaming?
  20. Not really. If WOS and Dayton play their game, I see them beating any opponent. Lots of your other teams will simply be outmatched. This is only round 2. Sorry, I left out Newton too.
