CLASS 6A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNEY 6\9- 6\10 2023
Separation Scientist replied to KF89's topic in High School Baseball
Cy Woods was losing 0-4 in the 3rd, last I saw. -
I have read on several automotive forums that Texas LEO's are generally fine with it. One summed it up pretty good, saying inspections does little or nothing relative to other measure that TX should take. First is get rid of the counterfeit paper license plates that are totally out of control, and that solves a lot of problems. Then (wishful thinking) is to eliminate or greatly reduce unlicensed drivers, typically an illegal immigrant in a decrepit $500 car with zero insurance. Taking these off the road would be far, far more beneficial than any inspections.

Shiner wins football, so I am pulling for Harleton here. -
Of course not! It was CLEARLY an illustration that Anahuac could simply overpower half their opponents by just running the ball and playing defense. I even listed the ones I thought. Do you really think a Hardin or a Tarkington would beat Anahuac if Anahuac played their LG at QB?? Seriously? Geeze, relax, take a breath. Its nothing more than a discussion, that's all!
-
I went to great lengths to say I was NOT referring to them. Did you miss that?
-
100%. I have heard people call it "daddy ball" before. I worked with a guy in the past that said that a lot. (Of course this is in NO WAY related to the excellent, excellent QB we are discussing here).
-
Lets keep the correct context, please. I said "in that district". That matters a lot. Last year Anahuac was athletic enough to run over the like of HJ, SA, Hardin, Kirbyville, Tarkington, and even their first round opponent Westwood if someone could simply hand off the ball. The Anahuac D would do the rest. Lastly, North Shore won State with a freshman QB year before last. In 6A.
-
Thats the exact best thing they should do. If so a great three years await. Best wishes to all.
-
Freshmen play and start and win on varsity in 3A. Its not all that uncommon. Put Anahuac's back up left guard at QB and Anahuac still wins 5/10 in that district.
-
There are occasional exceptional freshmen that elevates and transforms their team. Anahuac went 9-3 with one playoff win the year before he arrived, and Anahuac went the same 9-3 with one playoff win with him last year. I hope no one will accuse me of "hatin' on him" because I look at it analytically. I really do wish him the best, and his best days are hopefully ahead, but if you QB an athletic Anahuac team to a 13 point win over 4-7 Buna, I don't think he is the starting QB at North Shore, Katy or Atascocita under any circumstance, or even PN-G or PAM at least at this point. 89, I respect your opinion, what do you see as his signature win so far?
-
I did see him play in person (vs. Newton) and I did speak with him and his mom in the upper suite level of AT&T during the Championships. They were hanging out with Todd Dodge. He did have a stellar year in the local 3A. Period. No one can or is debating that. What should be kept in mind though it was done in a very weak 3A district. Look at who they lost to, non district D-2 Newton, Orangefield (tough but not overly athletic), and then they were creamed by Franklin. They beat 4-7 Buna by just 13 points. Orangefield and Anahuac won one playoff game, EC and Buna lost in first round. Weak district. There are no signature wins that I can see he has. Also, Anahuac had an athletic, well coached team team around him with good recievers to throw to. That makes a QB's job a lot easier. Put him in Nederland or simular and things could go badly for him, even if he plays well. If they just "have" to leave Anahuac then I hope he lands with a good team that has talent all around him, and there is no OC coaching drama involved. He could still have an incredible three years ahead in Anahuac with potential deeper runs, or he could struggle elsewhere. Sometimes the very best move is one you never make...

No, softball, I did state "SB" in my post above and "softball" in the post before that.

Californians and New Yorkers Fleeing to Texas… WHY??
Separation Scientist replied to DonTheCon2024's topic in Political Forum
If a sane, productive person abandons the hellholes of Cal or NY, they go to where jobs are in Texas. You could ask a STUPID strawman question and say "So why aren't they all moving to Evadale?" But does Evadale have a massive growing pertochemical complex like there is at the ship channel? Or does tiny Evadale have a world class Medical complex like there is in the Houston Medical Center? Or a booming business park like there is in the Woodlands? Of course not. Even a dullard like you has to understand this on some level. Evadale (for example) is a sleepy little town in the woods, with little or no industry to grow jobs, or tens of thousands of homes available for incomers. If a sane Cal person moves to conservative Woodlands, statistically they are said to have moved to "Houston". Most sane people fleeing the blue hellholes of Cal and NY won't end up in the Houston Montrose neighborhood or any of the crime ridden wards of Houston. They will end up in places like The Woodlands or Kingwood or Katy. Get it? -
Californians and New Yorkers Fleeing to Texas… WHY??
Separation Scientist replied to DonTheCon2024's topic in Political Forum
Lets go back to your exact question: Californians and New Yorkers Fleeing to Texas… WHY?? Why? Because Cal and NY are deep blue hellholes. That's why. All your trolling and straw men won't change a thing. -
If I was a chronic complainer about opposing fans and/or coaches, it would be different but I don't. The Lake Creek SB coach shows poor sportsmanship, showing up the umpire staff, arguing a lot, and charging out into the playing field without calling time out or even looking towards any umpire before she barges in. Some of their of their kids screamed obscenities after a loss in the parking lot at opposing fans, unprovoked. That's not OK whoever you are, but I think their behavior fed off the coach.
-
I'll pull for Mag West. Lake Creek has some terrible fans, especially on the softball side. Their softball coach is a real piece of work.

Most do.
