The Dangers of the International House of Prayer (IHOP)
mat replied to jv_coach's topic in The Locker Room
Too many 'isms for me. -
I haven't read the article but unfortunately they probably have the right to go there. As a business you can't, and probably shouldn't, refuse service to Muslims.

remember how Obamacare was going to lower the cost spiral?
mat replied to stevenash's topic in Political Forum
I'm sure Obama is not happy with Walmart for not doing their part. -
This is a story that still hasn't gotten much media attention. I wonder why?
-
One more before we get back on topic. Many believe they are saved because they believe and that is true. But, even more true, his word says that we are called, that he has chosen us to believe. Without being called we have no desire to believe. .

Westend - I understand. My God given brain (as limited as it is) limits my understanding too. I just can't comprehend the complexity of this earth, (whether it's a few thousand or a few billion years old) the universe, man and all living creatures, and the countless wonders of this world accidentally existing without the divine help of His hand; no matter how much scientist try to disprove it with their God given brains. The brain itself is a brilliantly complex part of our being but God also gives us a soul and spirit to mesh with His spirit. Our brains work much differently when we accept his spirit. No offense intended.

I don't think any of us can truly grasp a billion year concept. By the same token we can't truly grasp eternity either, which should be the bigger concern. ( - :

I think it's quite the stretch to interpret the organizations post on the district's website as forcing religion on others. As far as the factual existence of God goes, it is true, there is no concrete proof. There are however many examples to support believing in His existence through faith. One of many; I find it really hard to believe that millions (maybe billions) of people for thousands of years have lived their lives and profess transformation and salvation in a folktale. Doesn't sound likely to me. As far as our constitution goes, Christians should really take a step back and think "what does God think about man's interpretation and application of our constitution"? JMO - I don't think he's pleased with areas concerning Him and His word.
-
Our constitution continues to change over time as the SCOTUS changes. The more modernized or liberal the appointees become, the more liberal their interpretation. The same goes for conservative appointees.

HF is just the next target of an organization with an anti-Christ agenda. I think the superintendent has taken the right actions in taking it off the website but still supporting the student's rights. I don't think a lawsuit will happen nor will the program cease. Could the program be assisted with parents or clergy rather than teachers? It's funny how these things work. The effort to eliminate Christian groups sometimes only makes them stronger.

The media has really downplayed this crime and are slow to report the facts.

Hopefully there's more evidence to counter the damaging video. It' doesn't look good.

In any case, I welcome any traffic improvements.

I'm surprised this happened in Texas.

Let's give this another try. I saw this on another site and thought it was worth sharing. Enjoy, and smile. [Hidden Content]

USPS needs to implement a hefty junk mail rate. 3/4 of the mail I receive is useless.

A bigger concern in the article was $750 billions spent in welfare services per year. That's crazy.

Baylor recieves generous gift from Silsbee philanthropist

What about Silsbee High School? -
I can't post a link. It's become increasingly more difficult for me to post you tube links to this site so until I can figure out solution there won't be any music.
-
I suppose since Obamacare was unfairly imposed on you, you now support it? No, I bet not.

It would be different if students and parents knew what was required before they committed to the activity. To tell them after the program started that the district is discontinuing the service that they said would be provide is not fair. It's like telling them midseason that because of budget cuts it will cost you $100 to finished the season.
-
I agree with the cuts but the district needs to continue transporting for any program that is currently underway. Parents and students started the program with transportation being provided. Parents and students need fair warning if transportation is discontinued. Eliminate transportation for upcoming programs. Many program practices end after dark. It's a little impractical to say they should walk or ride their bike for miles.

Nice fish. Thanks for posting.

It's hump day. It's no mistake that today's music is appropriately posted in the political forum. Those that frequent this forum can surely relate. [Hidden Content]

I agree but they need to first figure out the cost of contracting out needed services
