Josh should be GSPs toughest competition since Alvez but he still doesn't stand a chance. After that fight GSP needs to move up. I agree with cutting Daley.

Not much activity on this topic so I'll start it. Shogun really stepped up and dominated Machida with his first round knock out. Machida didn't look like a title holder much less a PFP candidate. I really thought Shogun would take it this time but I didn't expect it to be that quick. Shogun says he would fight Anderson; I'd like to see that one. Koschek got the win and while he dominated Daley with his wrestling I saw no fire to put him away like I expected from him. And then when the fight was over Daley's punk sucker punch made Koschek look like the bigger man,,,, for just a minute and then he opened his mouth and insulted the hosting Canadians. Kimbo did not impress me but I was suprised Dana cut him so quick. Your thoughts?

Since the first post they are at .500 (one win one loss) Not bad for a comeback ::)

Good to see Lee contribute. I hope his walk off gets him out of his funk
GSP will slay him, but at least we can have a decent build up to a 170 lb championship main event. At least they can bill Shields the "strikeforce middleweight champ" vs. the UFC champ. But that right there will show all you non beilevers that the UFC is the most dominant MMA organization in the world.
I will agree with you on the UFC as the most dominant but I was really suprised that Shields beat Henderson. I expected Henderson (ex UFC quality fighter) to handle shields easily. GSP will have no problem.

Have real Astros return by getting swept?
no one saying enything :o
What's up Skip? If you don't know, who does?

There were some highs and lows in WEC 48. There were a couple of really good fights. Aldo was much better than I thought even though he showed no killer finishing instinct. Faber's game plan was terrible and he did not look good. Brown was also dissapointing.

Last night Dana said Shields was his. I'd like to GSP welcome him to the UFC

It's a relief to see a string of wins after such a string of losses. To early to really get my hopes up but they have been fun to watch. Good to have Berkman back.

Several sights have Sonnen ranked as the #2 or 3 MW. I'm not sure why but I'm not really familure with him. Bottom line is no one in this devision can touch Silva and I dodn't know why he isn't moving up. I thought when he took on Forrest he was going to move his way up; I guess not.

Mo Lawal defeats Mousasia, Melendez defeats Aoki

Yea, that was the most exciting part of an agrivating main event. Dan came out like the dominating fighter he can be and then he was done. He looked out of shape because he had nothing the rest of the fight, and then Shields was really agrivating. He had him mounted the rest of the fight and kept throwing sissy strikes; Looked like he was scared to hit Dan. He must've thrown 50 shots to the head and not one of them did any damage. I was really disappointed until mayhem showed up. -
And the comeback begins. ;)

They lost 2-1. Closest loss so far; I see improvement. :'( ::)

The topic is PFP. Andersons last fight did not help his case. Couture would hang on him against the fence for five rounds. Well maybe just three since it would not be a title fight.
-
You have tyo wonder whats going on behind the seens with Silva. May be this was a fight he didn't want to begin with nad maybe it was a fight that Dana made happen. Could be a power struggle. I thought it was funny though how ticked off Dana was after the fight. He was NOT happy with Silva.
-
The Stros usually get off to a slow and then pick up momentum. I don't have that feeling this year.
-
I agree with you on the decission but it doesn't help his PFP case
-
Could be, but in his last fight Shogun came very close to beeting him; some say he did. Their next fight will tell the tail.

How can I change my vote? >:(
-
A lot of fighters, experts and fans have different opinions as to who is the best PFP fighter in the world. In my opinion a lot has to do with who wants that title the most. Most are happy with holding a division title and then just lay claim to the PFP title without the need to prove it. Silva could be but he sure didn’t prove his case in his last fight. When he chose to move up in class and fought Forrest like he did he had my vote because he showed a hunger like he had something to prove. This time he was totally different fighter. GSP could be but while he is a technically perfect fighter I don’t see that hunger to state his case for PFP. He may have to move up in class or change to a more aggressive style to convince others he deserves that claim. Fedor could be but he’ll never convince others until he takes on UFC heavyweights. Lesner could be but doesn’t have enough fights under his belt and unless he ever gets a chance with Fedor there will always be that question. Penn was a possible but that’s gone after his recent loss. Many want the title but it just doesn’t appear anyone want to prove it. What are your thoughts? Is there anyone I left out?
